Box Score 2 ASTON, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr College volleyball team spent Friday night and Saturday afternoon competing at the Knights Invitational hosted by Neumann University. During the two-day tournament the Owls went 1-3.
In the opening match of the tournament, the Owls defeated Rutgers-Camden 3-1 (2125, 25-21, 25-15, 25-11) for their only win on the weekend. Leading the Owl with 13 kills was sophomore Rachel Ofili. Sophomore Sarah Gates added five kills while junior Samantha Abbott tallied five. Abbott and Ofili added five total blocks each while junior Danielle Preziuso handed-out 24 assists. Sophomore Zoe Holman amassed four service aces.
In Friday's nightcap, Bryn Mawr suffered their first set-back of the season as they fell to Pitt.-Bradford 3-1 (27-25, 25-23, 18-25, 25-22).
Saturday morning, the Owls fell to host Neumann 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-12). Ofili posted a team-best seven kills while Gates added six. Abbott and classmate Ellen Chiu added four kills each. Preziuso totaled 21 assists. Holman recorded nine digs.
In the weekend's final match against Scranton, the Royals downed the Owls 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-15). Abbott posted a game-high 10 kills as Chiu and Ofili added four each. Preziuso recorded 15 assists as Holman added four. Gates tallied a team-best three blocks in the match.
Following the 1-3 weekend, the Owls are now 6-3 on the season. They return to the court when they travel to Immaculata on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 7:00 pm.
