Box Score SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr College soccer team made the trek to Swarthmore Wednesday evening for their annual showdown with the Garnet. Swarthmore scored all three of their goals in the opening half to pick-up their 8th win of the season.
In the opening half, the Garnet outshot the Owls 11-3 while making three of their seven shots on goal count.
Swarthmore got on the board in the 10th minutes when McCleary Philbin took an Emma Sindelar cross and found the back of the net. Nineteen minutes later it was Philbin scoring again, but this time she took a shot from outside the box which skipped into the net.
Holding the 2-0 lead, the Garnet tacked on their third goal of the game as Rebecca Mayeda scored her first goal of the season in the 40th minute.
Despite a good defensive second-half from the Owls as they kept Swarthmore's offense at bay and out the net, Bryn Mawr was unable to find the back of the net. The Owls tallied four shots in the second-half.
Leading the Owls with two shots was junior Marcela Dorfsman-Hopkins and freshman Madeleine Mark. Sophomore's Allegra Levy and Veronica Roux took one shot each while juniors Kelli Breeden and Marian Slocum took the others.
