Volleyball Suffers Setback on the Road

ALLENTWON, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr volleyball team suffered a 3-0 (25-15, 29-27, 25-20) setback Wednesday evening on the road at Muhlenberg.

In the opening set, the Mules outlasted the Owls 15-5 following a 10-10 deadlock. In the second frame, The Owls battled back from an early 11-4 deficit to tie the game at 17-17. From that point, the match saw five more ties before the Mules were able to pull out the 29-27 win in extra action.

In the third and final set, Bryn Mawr jumped out to an early 7-4 lead but the host Mules rallied back to picked-up the third set win and their ninth win of the season.

Leading the Owls on the evening was sophomore Rachel Ofili. Ofili paced the Owls with nine kills and six total blocks. Junior Samantha Abbott and freshman Sarah Gates added six kills each.

Junior Danielle Preziuso handed-out a match-high 25 assists while sophomore Zoe Holman tallied 12 digs.

With the loss, the Owls drop to 10-6 on the season and 1-3 in Centennial action. They are back to the hardwood on Wednesday, Oct. 9, when they travel to Washington College for a 7:00 pm showdown with the Shorewomen.
