Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. – The sixth ranked Johns Hopkins University women's soccer team scored five second-half goals as they cruised to a 9-1 win over Bryn Mawr Saturday afternoon.
The Blue Jays got on the board in the 15th minute when Hannah Kronick took a Christina Convey pass and found the back of the net. Five minutes later, Kelly Baker scored her fifth goal of the season to give JHU a 2-0 lead.
In the 30th minute, Alexa Rangecroft added to Hopkins' lead with a help from Sydney Teng. Eleven minutes later, Teng fed Meg Van de Loo to give Johns Hopkins a 4-0 lead. The Blue Jays took the 4-0 lead into halftime.
The Jays tacked-on three goals in the opening eleven minutes of the second half. Vania Ludman, Jennie Hall and Kylie Fuller recorded goals for Hopkins.
In the 74th minute, Ludman scored her second goal of the game with help from Jessica Moog to give JHU an 8-0 lead.
Bryn Mawr got on the board two minutes later when sophomore Allegra Levy scored the unassisted goal. With a loose bouncing ball in the box, Levy stepped-up and took the shot that flew past back-up goalie Sarah Bennett.
Kaitlin Brooks scored an unassisted goal for the Blue Jays in the 85th minute to push their lead to eight, 9-1.
Bryn Mawr's only shot of the game counted as it resulted in their only goal of the game. Levy's goal is the first goal that the Owls have scored against the Blue Jays since 2008 when they Owls found the back of the net three times.
Sophomore goalie Aviva Kosansky posted nine saves on the afternoon.
The Owls are back to action on Saturday, Oct. 26, when they play host to Moravian at 1:00p m on Applebee Field.
