Field Hockey Suffers Setback at the Hands of Haverford

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Bryn Mawr traveled to Haverford College Wednesday afternoon but it was the hosts Fords that claimed victory in this annual clash of rivals.

Haverford scored a pair of goals in the opening five minutes of the game as Megan Holt and Jen DiMaria both recorded the tallies. In the 17th minute DiMaria added her second goal of the half followed by Holt's second of the game in the 33rd minute.

The Fords held on and took the 4-0 lead into the half.

The only score in the second-half came from DiMaria for her first career hat trick in the 37th minute.

Bryn Mawr registered only two shots on the afternoon as junior Holly Constants and freshman Holly Senebandith registered one each. Combining for three saves on the day was senior Faith Westdorp and sophomore Alex Weinfeld.

Haverford outshot the Owls 15-2 while Bryn Mawr held a slight 7-6 advantage in penalty corners.

The Owls are back to action on Saturday, Oct. 19, when they play host to Johns Hopkins at 1:00 pm on Applebee Field.
