Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. – Junior Nicolette Parmese netted a game-best 21 points but wasn't enough as the host Green Terror topped the Owls, 73-44, Saturday afternoon in conference action.
McDaniel opened the game on an 11-0 run that spanned the opening 3:23. Parmese got the Owls on the board at 16:37 with a lay-up, before senior Aislinn Toohey drained a three-pointer on the Owls ensuing passion.
With ten minutes left in the opening half, Bryn Mawr cut their deficit to 11, 22-11. With the score at 27-15, McDaniel added to their lead by holding Bryn Mawr scoreless during a two-minute span to take a 34-15 lead.
The Owls were held to three points the final five minutes of the half with Parmese scoring a lay-up and freshman Ashlee Williams netted a free-throw. The Terror held a 43-18 lead at the half.
Bryn Mawr fared better in the second half as they tallied 26 points. Parmese led the Owls in the second with nine points while Toohey added six as she went 2-for-2 from beyond the arch. Junior Jackie Handy and Williams added four points each.
In addition to her 21 points, Parmese grabbed 11 rebounds and tallied two blocks. Toohey ended the afternoon with nine points while Handy added six.
Leading the Terror was Steph Perez and Stephanie Fish with 12 and eight points, respectively.
The Owls are back to the hardwood when they play host to Johns Hopkins on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 7:00 pm. The game with the Blue Jays will start a four-game home swing for Bryn Mawr.
