Toohey Nets Six Points in Return to the Line-Up

CHESTERTOWN, Pa. – Junior Aislinn Toohey netted six points as she returned to the Owls' bench following a hand injury but it wasn't enough as host Washington College cruised to an  80-30 victory Wednesday evening.

The host Shorewomen held the Owls scoreless for the opening 6:32 of the game as they took a commanding 12-2 lead. Junior Jackie Handy got Bryn Mawr on the board with a jumper at 13:28.

Handy tallied the Owls' next two baskets followed by a deep three-pointer from Toohey with 3:17 left in the half. Junior Nicolette Parmese netted Bryn Mawr's tenth points with a free-throw at 2:15.

Washington took a 25-points lead, 35-10, as the time in the first-half expired.

In the second-half, Parmese led all scorers with 11 points as she connected on four baskets and three free-throws.  Toohey made her only shot of the half, a three-ball from beyond the arch. Freshman Liandra Curtis, sophomore Ashton Dwyer and Handy each chipped in two points.

Parmese led the Owls with 12 points while Handy added eight. Also making her return to the Owls line-up following an injury, Curtis grabbed a team-best six boards.

The Owls are back to actin when they travel to McDaniel on Saturday, Jan. 25, for a 1:00 pm showdown with the Green Terror.
