COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr College basketball team fell to host Ursinus, 67-34, Thursday evening in Centennial Conference action. Leading the way for the Owls with 10 points was freshman Hope McMahan.

The host Bears opened the game by jumping out to an early 15-4 lead forcing the Owls to call timeout just four minutes into the game. Following the timeout, Bryn Mawr tallied three consecutive baskets with junior Nicolette Parmese recording a pair of layups. The Owls, looking for their second victory of the season, pulled within five, 15-10.

Following a jumper by McMahan with 13:37 to play in the half, the Ursinus defensive held Bryn Mawr scoreless the remainder of the half as they netted 31 points to take a 46-12 lead into the lockers.

In the second, the Owls defense started the half as they held Ursinus scoreless over the opening 4:52. However, during that span Bryn Mawr was unable to cut into their large deficit as they tallied only one basket.

Over the next five minutes of action, the Owls scored three baskets by three different players. Freshman Ashlee Williams, junior Jackie Handy and Parmese each tallied one of Bryn Mawr's tallies during that span.

During the final ten minutes of the game, Bryn Mawr scored 14 points highlighted by a pair of three-pointers by senior Aislinn Toohey.

In addition to McMahan's 10 points, she snagged six rebounds. Parmese pulled-down 10 boards and chipped-in eight points. Toohey ended the night with 6 points while Handy and Williams tallied four. Off the bench, Handy grabbed a game-best 11 rebounds in 30-minutes of action.

The Owls are back to action when they host the Gettysburg Bullets on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 2:00 pm. The game marks the first time that the Owls will play in front of their home crowd this season.
