Box Score BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Host Dickinson College used a five-goal first-half to defeat the visiting Bryn Mawr College Owls 5-0 in Centennial Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils started the game fast with a goal in the opening five minutes. Erin Sutphen made it 1-0 Dickinson with her goal at 4:47.
The Red Devils tacked-on three more goals over a 10-minute span as Cate Maugle (15:24), Olivia Licata (20:02) and Marissa Kunkle (24:50) all found the back of the net.
At 41:00, Dickinson added another goal, this time from the foot of Jess Swain. Her goal made it 5-0 Red Devils getting ready to head into the half.
The second-half was a totally different story as the Owls defense, led by senior goalie Rebecca Joseph and junior Karina Siu, held the Red Devils scoreless.
Four different Owls' recorded shots. Freshmen Veronica Roux and Helena Van Oudenallen as well as sophomores Kellie Breeden and Marian Slocum all took one shot each. Joseph posted 12 saves between the pipes for Bryn Mawr.
On the day, Dickinson outshot the Owls 34-4 and held a 7-2 advantage on corner kicks.
Bryn Mawr returns to the pitch on Thursday, Oct. 11, when the Owls travel to Cairn (formerly Philadelphia Biblical) for a 4:00 pm contest.
