Beckmann Nets Lone Goal on the Road at Muhlenberg

Box Score

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Sophomore Madison Beckmann scored Bryn Mawr's only goal Wednesday night as the Owls fell to host Muhlenberg, 5-1, in Centennial Conference action.

Muhlenberg scored their first goal at 7:20 when Christine Germaske scored an unassisted goal. Nine minutes later, Dayna Hovern made it 2-0 Muhlenberg. Over the next 19-minutes, both teams battled as the first-half expired.

After nearly eight minutes of scoreless action to start the second-half, Germaske netted her second goal of the game. Samantha Swire and Erin Cummings each added a goal to make it 5-0 Muhlenberg.

With roughly six minutes remaining in the game, Beckmann gained possession of the ball at the top of the arc and unleashed a shot past Colleen O'Donnell for her team-best 14th goal of the season.

Beckmann's goal snaps a 32-game Centennial Conference scoreless streak that dates back to Sept. 10, 2009.

On the evening, freshman Kayla Bixler took a team-high three shots while four others registered one shot. Junior goalie Faith Westdorp posted nine saves on the game while freshman back-up Alex Weinfeld turned away one shot.

Bryn Mawr is back to action on Saturday, Oct. 6, when they travel to Dickinson for a 1:00 pm contest.
