Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr College volleyball team gave a valiant effort on the road Wednesday, but they came-up short as host Muhlenberg downed the Owls 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-13), in Centennial Conference action.
In the first set, the Mules started-off on a 4-0 run before the Owls took over service following a Mules ball handling error. Muhlenberg regained service on the next play as they increased their lead to 6-1. The Mules took a 12-points lead, 22-10, before senior Hannah Rosebrock provided four straight points. Muhlenberg closed out the set with a Bryn Mawr attack error.
The Owls jumped-out to an early 3-0 lead in the second but Muhlenberg bounced back by claiming seven straight points. The Mules added to their lead as they eventually claimed the 25-16 win on back-to-back kills by Katherine Boll.
In the third and final set, the Mules took control from the beginning. Despite pulling within five, 5-10, the Owls were unable to catch-up as Muhlenberg outscored Bryn Mawr 15-8 down the home stretch to claim their 9th win of the season.
Leading the Owls with seven kills was Rosebrock. She added here digs and one assists while sophomore Danielle Preziuso handed out 17 assists. Freshman Sarah Gates added five kills and sophomore Miranda McDevitt dug a team-best eight shots.
The Owls are back to action on Saturday, October 6, when they host the Seven Sisters Volleyball Tournament. Bryn Mawr will take on Wellesley at 10:11 am followed by Vassar at 12:30 pm.
