Box Score BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Wearing the Yellow and White for the final time in her collegiate career, senior Hannah Rosebrock was honored before the start of Bryn Mawr-Haverford game Thursday night inside the Class of 1958 Gymnasium. As for the game, the visiting Fords blanked the Owls 3-0 (25-11, 25-11, 25-14) in Bryn Mawr's season finale.
In the first set, following a back-and-forth start, Haverford tallied five straight points to take an 11-4 lead, forcing the Owls to call a timeout. Following the timeout, Bryn Mawr scored three of the next four points, but Haverford bounced back to take the next five points to push their lead to 17-8. From that point, the Fords outscored the Owls 8-3 to take the first set.
Haverford kicked-off the second set by taking an early 5-2 before pushing their lead to 15-5. Bryn Mawr started to mount a comeback but an attack error by sophomore Ellen Chiu swung the momentum back to the Fords. Haverford eventually took a 20-9 lead and eventually claimed the second set 25-11.
After falling behind 7-1 in the third set, Bryn Mawr bounced back and pulled within three, 7-4. The Fords rebounded to take an 18-8 lead. The Owls five won the next five points clawing within six, 18-12, but weren't able to capitalize down the home stretch. Haverford claimed the third set with a 25-14 win.
Leading the Owls in her final college game was Rosebrock with four kills and eight digs. Chiu and freshmen Sarah Gates and Noemi Moreno each tallied two kills. Freshman Zoe Holman tallied 10 assists while Moreno added nine digs. Chiu and freshman Rachel Ofili each tallied two total blocks.
The Owls end the season 7-19 overall and 1-9 in Centennial Conference action. On the season, Ofili set a new school record with total blocks (99) and block assists (66). She also ranks 10th with253 kills in a season.
