Box Score BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Senior Manya Steinfeld recorded Bryn Mawr's lone goal of the afternoon in the 67th minute as the Owls' opened Centennial Conference action Wednesday afternoon against Washington College on a wet and slippery Shillingford Field.
Steinfeld's goal came way of a penalty stroke when the Shorewomen's goalie, Brit Barr, was called for a foul on Izzie Armentrout inside the box.
Washington jumped out to an early lead when Emily Trees found the back of the cage at the 1-minute mark. Two and half minutes later, Clair McAuliffe scored the eventual game win off a penalty corner.
The Shorewomen tacked on eight more goals in the first to take a 10-0 lead at the half.
Washington added five more goals in the second-half en route to their second win of the season.
In goal for the Owls, senior Elizabeth Toft and sophomore Faith Westdorp combined for 29 saves. Armentrout and Steinfeld tallied Bryn Mawr's only shots of the afternoon and freshman Holly Constants posted a defensive save.
The Owls are back to action Saturday, Sept. 24, when they travel to Westminster, Md., to take on the McDaniel Green Terror at 2:00 pm.
