Westdorp Tallies 12 Saves Against Muhlenberg

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Sophomore goalie Faith Westdorp posted 12 saves Wednesday afternoon as Bryn Mawr dropped a Centennial Conference game to Muhlenberg 4-0 on Applebee Field.

The Mules tallied a pair of goals in each half to earn their fourth overall and second in league play.

In the opening half, Bryn Mawr controlled the tempo for the opening 10 minutes of action. After controlling the ball at midfield, Muhlenberg started their offensive attack.

Jillian Katz got the Mules on the board first with her goal in the 14th minute. Kayleigh Thies added another goal for Muhlenberg three minutes later to give the Red and Gray a 2-0 lead. That score would hold the remainder of the half.

Just over 10 minutes into the second-half, Thies added her second goal of the game. Ii the 65th minute, Jenny Catalano took a Kristin Lang feed to secure Muhlenberg the victory.

Muhlenberg outshot the Owls 26-6 while it was a 9-9 draw in penalty corners.

For the Owls, freshman Maddy Beckmann took a team-best four shots while classmates Mikah Farbo and Megan Rongone each tallied one shot.

Bryn Mawr is back to action on Friday, Oct. 7, when they play host to Dickinson College at 4:30 pm on Shillingford Field.
