Box Score BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Bryn Mawr's Tri-Co rival Swarthmore, tallied one goal in each half en route to their 11th win of the season and sixth in Centennial Conference play Wednesday afternoon on the Main Line.
After early back-and-forth play from both teams, Swarthmore's Emma Sindelar took a Megan Brock pass and sent it into the back of the net to give the visiting Garnet a 1-0 in the 22nd minute of the game.
In the second, the Yellow and White were hanging tough with Swarthmore and had a couple of opportunities to score but were unable to get the lift they needed.
In the 69th minute, the Garnet added to their lead when Aly Passanante netted the games second goal off a corner kick.
Swarthmore held off a couple more scoring attempts by the Owls to hold on for the 2-0 victory.
Making her first start in goal since suffering a concussion against Gettysburg on Oct. 19, junior goalie Rebecca Joseph posted seven saves on 11 shots. Also for the Owls, senior's Carrie Schoonover, Miranda Gordon-Zigel and Kathi Seto, as well as sophomore Karina Siu, each recorded one shot during the game.
Swarthmore outshot the Owls 11-4 and held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Bryn Mawr will wrap-up their 2011 season on Saturday, Oct. 29, when they play host to Goucher at 1:00 pm on Applebee Field.
