Field Hockey Seniors Honored on Senior Day

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Bryn Mawr's trio of senior's Tiffany Olzsuk, Manya Steinfeld and Liz Toft, were honored before Saturday's Centennial Conference showdown with visiting Johns Hopkins. In the end, the Blue Jays won the game 8-0 to improve to 8-7 overall and 5-3 in conference action.

For Johns Hopkins, Annie Shepard scored a natural hat trick to start the game with goals in the 5th, 8th and 13th minute. Her first goal was assisted by Carly Bianco. The Blue Jays took the 3-0 lead into the half.

In the second, Hopkins received five goals from five different players. Maggie Phillips scored on an Ali Bahneman assists in the 42nd minute followed by a Liane Tellier goal five minutes later.

Storm Kodde, Maddie Fryer and Kelly Schwarz rounded out the Jay's scoring output.

For Bryn Mawr, junior Isidora Armentrout and Steinfeld recorded defensive saves while sophomore Rachel Kahelin tallied Bryn Mawr's only shot of the afternoon.

In goal for the Owls, Toft posted 21 saves on 39 shots.

Bryn Mawr is back to action on Wednesday, Oct. 26, when they host Swarthmore at 4:00 pm on Shillingford Field.
