Haverford Blanks Field Hockey in League Tilt

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Haverford scored their first goal just over a minute into the game and added ten more to defeated visiting Bryn Mawr in Centennial Conference action Wednesday afternoon.

Haverford's goal by Mary Hobbs just 1:04 into the game was the eventual game-winner as the Fords improve to 7-6 overall and 4-3 in conference play.

Ten minutes later, Haverford pushed their lead to 2-0 when Christine Gall found the back of the cage on a Molly Braun feed. The Fords would tack on four more goals to take a 6-0 lead at the half.

In the second, Haverford added five more goals by five different players as they handed Bryn Mawr the loss.

For the Owls, goalies Faith Westdorp and Elizabeth Toft combined for 16 shots on Haverford's 44-shots. Senior Manya Steinfeld and freshman Maddy Beckmann took the Owls only shots on the afternoon.

On the season, Bryn Mawr is 1-12 overall and 0-8 in league action.

The Owls are back to action Saturday, Oct. 22, when they host Johns Hopkins at 11:00 am on Applebee Field.
