Maggie Balderstone serves as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Bryn Mawr College, where they oversee the promotion and storytelling efforts for the Owls’ athletic programs. After joining Bryn Mawr as the Athletic Communications Fellow in 2024, Balderstone was elevated to their current role in August of 2025.
Before arriving at Bryn Mawr, Balderstone gained valuable experience as the Athletic Communications Intern at Oberlin College from 2022 to 2024. During their time at Oberlin, they supported all facets of sports information, including social media strategy, photography, and statistical management, while honing their passion for storytelling and digital engagement.
At Bryn Mawr, Balderstone works closely with coaches, student-athletes, and staff to create dynamic coverage across platforms, showcasing the achievements and experiences that make Bryn Mawr Athletics unique. They are dedicated to using communications as a tool for inclusion and empowerment, emphasizing the human stories behind athletic competition.
In addition to their communications role, Balderstone serves as Bryn Mawr’s Athlete Ally staff advisor, where they advocate for gender inclusion and LGBTQ+ visibility in sports. Through this position, they foster a welcoming and supportive environment for all student-athletes.
