Jack Grogan

Jack Grogan joins the Bryn Mawr College women's basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach. Bringing 3+ years’ coaching experience, 6 years of formal playing experience, and over 3 years of experience as a professional skills trainer, Grogan is excited to bring his passion for the game to the Owls. His journey with basketball began as a young child growing up in Quakertown, PA. He grew up a fan of players like Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant, and Carmelo Anthony and began playing basketball in middle school. This continued all the way through high school and eventually led him to a 6-year career at the Pro-Am level playing across Hampton Roads, VA and Philadelphia. After his final tournament in 2022, Grogan sought to pass on the knowledge he gained playing to the next generation. He began training local college players and volunteering at different camps for young children through programs such as Reach Sports and Fellowship of Christian Athletes at local elementary schools in Kensington and Kutztown University.

After this, he accepted an opportunity to be the Head Coach for the Girls’ Basketball Program at Calvary Christian Academy taking them from 3-17 to 9-12 and qualifying for the playoffs in his first year. The next season, he accepted an offer to become the assistant coach at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy. His first season there was focused heavily on player development and recruiting, allowing players to make mistakes and coaching them along the way. While they struggled with a 4-14 record that first year, it set them up for an incredible comeback the following season. After being promoted to Head Coach in 2025, the hard work him and his staff had put in came to fruition. The team went from 4-14 to 11-11 in one season with a nearly identical roster, where BAA Holiday Tournament Champions and posted two players on the all-tournament team including tournament MVP, and returned SCH back to the PAISAA State Tournament for the first time in 7 years.

In addition to this, with a brand-new offense they averaged over 20 points per game more than the previous season. After that, Grogan came across the opportunity to coach at Bryn Mawr College and after going through the interview process, was hired by Coach Coleman. As Grogan enters into his first season with the Owls, he is excited to contribute to the team primarily focusing on player development, bringing his offensive expertise, and helping expand the Owls recruiting net to local players from the Philadelphia area.

“I am so grateful to Coach Coleman for welcoming me with open arms to this team. I look forward to contributing to this team in any way I can and bringing my years of playing, coaching, and training experience to help lead Bryn Mawr to our championship aspirations.”
