Dave Gounis joins the program with a strong background in player development and a foundation built as a former collegiate player at Stony Brook University. His coaching journey began as a teenager working at youth basketball camps, where he discovered a passion for teaching, mentoring, and inspiring young players. Today, he coaches and supports player development through organizations including Next Play AAU, Philadelphia Youth Basketball, and FIBA sponsored programs.

He founded Heart Hustle & Hoops LLC, an inclusive community-driven space where athletes can grow through intentional training, accountability, and mentorship, focusing on confidence, character, and performance. He recently earned NASM certifications as a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Nutrition Coach, deepening his ability to support athletes through a holistic and comprehensive approach to performance, health, and development.
Dave believes coaching, guiding, and mentoring student-athletes extends far beyond teaching the game, carrying a profound responsibility to help shape character, confidence, and future success. This commitment is not lost on him, and he approaches every coaching opportunity with purpose, integrity, and a genuine investment in the lives of his players.
“I want to extend my sincere gratitude to Coach Carla and Bryn Mawr Athletics for this incredible opportunity. I’m really looking forward to a record breaking season with this team," Say Gounis
