Courtney Morris was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics in 2026 after serving as Bryn Mawr College's Head Strength and Conditioning Coach since December 2011.
In her role as Assistant Director of Athletics, Morris leads programming and initiatives focused on student-athlete wellness and well-being while supporting wellness efforts across the Bryn Mawr campus community. Morris works closely with all student-athletes to foster personal growth and development beyond the competitive surface and oversees the College's physical education curriculum, helping to create a holistic and engaging wellness experience for all students.
Morris's journey into exercise physiology began through athletics as a lifelong soccer player. While earning a bachelor's degree in Biology from Bryn Mawr College, she worked in the Athletic Training Room with student-athletes across a variety of sports, cultivating a passion for physiology, biomechanics, and performance enhancement.
After graduating, Morris worked as a personal trainer and Spinning instructor before pursuing a Master of Science in Kinesiology from West Chester University. While completing her graduate studies, Morris earned certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
Prior to returning to Bryn Mawr, Morris worked at two sport-specific training centers, where she trained collegiate and professional athletes in running mechanics, strength development, power, body control, and sport-specific performance while emphasizing injury prevention and long-term athletic health. Her research experience includes non-contact ACL injuries, core training to reduce low back pain, overtraining, and the female athlete triad.
In addition to her work in athletics, Morris serves as an adjunct instructor in Bryn Mawr's Biology Department, teaching Anatomy and Physiology. She is also a certified Spinning instructor and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), bringing a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to health, fitness, and wellness that continues to benefit the Bryn Mawr community.
