Bryn Mawr Edges Arcadia with Clutch Relay Finish, 109-95

GLENSIDE, PA - The Bryn Mawr College swim team came away with a thrilling 109-95 victory over Arcadia University on Saturday afternoon. The Owls and Knights traded leads throughout the meet, but Bryn Mawr sealed the win in dramatic fashion with a first-place finish in the final event of the 400-yard freestyle relay to secure the team victory.

Highlights:
  • Bryn Mawr's A 200-yard medley relay of Chloe Amos, Samantha Ings, Zoe Sorensen, and Shelby Jackson opened the meet with a second-place finish (2:00.15), keeping the Owls within striking distance.
  • Samantha Ings captured first in the 1000-yard freestyle (12:04.95), followed by strong swims from Mina Doebele (12:23.94) and Shoshana Peck (12:39.82), helping Bryn Mawr take an early lead in points.
  • Dalia Ibrahim placed second in the 50-yard freestyle (26.39), backed by Maya Madden (26.99) and Jackson (27.11) in third and fourth, giving the Owls valuable mid-meet points.
  • Jane Farrell won the 200-yard IM (2:22.42) and teamed up later in the 100-yard freestyle (59.04) and 400 free relay for key scoring swims.
  • Pearl Shelton dominated the 200-yard butterfly (2:18.52) and 500-yard freestyle (5:37.80), earning two event wins to keep Bryn Mawr ahead. Shelton's time in the 200-yard freestyle marks the seventh best time in program history for the event.
  • First-year Chloe Amos took the 200-yard backstroke (2:19.55), adding another nine points to the Owls' total. Amos also earned her spot in the Bryn Mawr swimming top 10 times with a ninth best time in program history for the 200-yard backstroke.
  • In the decisive 400-yard freestyle relay, the team of Madden, Jackson, Ibrahim, and Farrell clocked 3:53.61 to win the final race and clinch the meet for Bryn Mawr, 109-95.
