GETTYSBURG, PA -
Bryn Mawr swimming opened the 2025-26 season in the Centennial Conference West Quad Meet held at Gettsyburg College on Saturday. The Owls faced off against conference opponents, Gettysburg, McDaniel, Washington College, and Johns Hopkins with a win against McDaniel, 199-54. The day also marked Coach
Margaret Wilman's first meet at the helm of the Bryn Mawr swim team.
Highlights:
- The Owls began the day in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Chloe Amos, Pearl Shelton, Jane Farrell, and Dalia Ibrahim finished in seventh place with a time of 1:58.31.
- In individual events, Shelton continued to lead Bryn Mawr with a notable third-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle, clocking 11:19.96. She also excelled in the 100-yard breaststroke, securing eighth place with a time of 1:16.38.
- Ibrahim and Samantha Ings also performed well, with Ibrahim finishing the 100-yard freestyle in 58.85 seconds and Ings completing the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:49.23.
- Amos contributed with a solid eighth-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke, recording a time of 1:05.59. She also swam the 200-yard backstroke, securing eighth place with a time of 2:21.87, and participated in the 200-yard Individual Medley, finishing 10th at 2:28.85.
- Farrell delivered a strong performance in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing eighth with a time of 1:01.21. She also contributed in the 200-yard freestyle, securing eighth place with a time of 2:08.84, and swam in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing ninth at 2:27.33.
- First-year Mina Doebel also made her collegiate debute on Saturday with strong performances in the 200-yard medley relay, 200-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle, and 200-yard freestyle relay.
- Overall, Bryn Mawr was victorious over McDaniel with a score of 199-54.
