Owls Win Home Meet on Senior Day, 109-92

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr swim program welcomed the Shorewomen of Washington College to the Schwartz Pool for a home meet earlier Saturday afternoon. The Owls began the day by celebrating their three graduating seniors: Adjoa Acquaah, Bethany Rutkowski, and Vivian Sandifer. Throughout the meet, Bryn Mawr won four events and placed second in nine to win the Centennial Conference match-up, 109-92.

Highlights:
  • The Owls opened the meet with a new event for the team, the 800 medley relay. The Owls' first team of Felicia Pursner, Maddie Sullivan, Mina Rothberg, and Sandifer placed first in the event with a time of 9:27.97. Their teammates Emma Rideout-Mann, Rutkowski, Anna Roumiantsev, and Acquaah finished third with a time of 10:44.14.
  • In the 100 individual medley, Jane Farrell (1:04.77), Mina Rothberg (1:05.55), and Dalia Ibrahim (1:06.41) placed first, second, and third respectively to all earn a personal record in the event. Their times also earned them a top-10 fastest time in program history in the 100 individual medley.
  • The Shorewomen broke a pool record in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:42.28. This record was previously broken during the 2022-23 season by Franklin & Marshall with a time of 1:42.85.
  • Two more Owls placed first on the day against the Shorewomen. Ellie Berry earned a time of 56.07 in the 100 freestyle while Rothberg finished at 11:11.66 in the 100 breaststroke.
  • The Owls placed second in eight individual events:
    • Sandifer: 1000 freestyle (11:45.78) and 500 freestyle (5:31.52)
    • Samantha Ings: 200 freestyle (2:06.17)
    • Berry: 50 freestyle (25.92)
    • Maya Madden: 100 butterfly (1:01.93)
    • Zoe Sorensen: 100 backstroke (1:05.01)
    • Sullivan: 100 breaststroke (1:13.05)
  • Bryn Mawr topped off the day with a second place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:47.43 (Ings, Madden, Ibrahim, Berry).
The Owls will return to the pool for the Centennial Conference Championships on February 23rd hosted at Gettysburg College.
