Owls Fall to the Diplomats 147-58

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr swim team traveled to Franklin & Marshall earlier Saturday morning to compete in a Centennial Conference match-up in the Kunkel Aquatic Center. The Owls earned a total of 58 points, but it was not enough to overcome the Diplomats lead 147-58.

Sophomore Jane Farrell earned a first-place finish for the Owls while four individual Owls earned personal bests.

Highlights:
  • Maya Madden, Maddie Sullivan, Farrell, and Dalia Ibrahim began the meet with a top seven fastest time in program history in the 200 medley relay event (1:56.04).
  • Senior Vivian Sandifer maintained a strong momentum for the Owls as she finished second in the 1000 freestyle (11:25.49) and improved upon her time last week at Elizabethtown by almost 11 seconds.
  • Farrell earned the Owls' lone first place of the meet in the 100 butterfly. Also competing in the event was first-year Zoe Sorenson (1:04.65) who earned her second personal best of the day. Earlier in the meet, the first-year earned a personal best in the 50 freestyle (26.46).
  • Sullivan earned a personal best in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:08.29.
  • First-year Samantha Ings finished second in the 200 individual medley for a personal best (2:24.79). Junior Anna Roumiantsev debuted in the event to also earn a personal best (2:50.24).
  • Madden finished second in the 100 backstroke (1:06.28).
  • Mina Rothberg finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.02).
  • The squad of Ellie Berry, Sandifer, Rothberg, and Katharine Briggs rounded out the meet to record the Owls' second top-10 fastest time for the day in the 400 freestyle relay (3:55.48).
The Bryn Mawr swim program will take a week off from competition and will return after the holidays to compete in the Ranger Invitational hosted by Drew University on December 1-2.
