PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr rowing team had an exciting weekend of racing with first and second place showings in the DIII category across four events at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta. The Owls' impressive racing also earned them the Women's Collegiate Points Trophy.
In the Varsity 8+, Bryn Mawr placed first in the DIII Women's Eight, with a time of 14:12 winning over fellow MARC member Catholic University in 2nd place by 15 seconds.
Women's Varsity 8+
Earlier in the day, Bryn Mawr raced in the DIII Women's Four. The Bryn Mawr A boat came in second, finishing behind fellow conference member Marietta College with a time of 16:30.511.
Women's 1V4+
The Bryn Mawr B boat came in 10th with a time of 18:02.34.
Women's 2V4+
Both crews had strong races on their home course.
In the Frosh/Novice races, Bryn Mawr placed first for DIII, and second overall in the Frosh/Novice 4+s with a time of 15:58.7.
Women's 2F4+
The DIII Frosh/Novice 8+ featured a majority of athletes who just learned to row this fall. The crew placed first with a time of 15:50.5, finishing 30 seconds ahead of MARC conference school Stockton University.
Frosh/Novice 8+
Bryn Mawr ended the fall season strong after medaling in every category. The Owls will return in a few months for the spring racing season.
