HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Bryn Mawr cross country team was back in action earlier Saturday afternoon, with the Owls competing in the Centennial Conference Championship. Bryn Mawr student-athletes put together some very strong races on the day, led by a great run from Anna Kyle.
The Owls junior has been leading the team all season in most of their races, and that was no different today, as Kyle claimed a 35th-place finish with a time of 24:00. Emma Fiorini was next up for the Owls, as she took 62nd with a time of 25:17. Emily George (25:49) and Haley Varnum (26:05) each pulled down top-80 finishes, while Allegra Wham (26:41) rounded out the top five for Bryn Mawr.
Emily Haller also ran a strong race for Bryn Mawr, coming home in a time of 26:52. Sarah Keane (27:08), Nina Inman (27:10), and Campbell Powell (27:15) finished back-to-back-to-back for the Owls. Carey Parker (27:28), Amelia McDonnell (27:31), and Shannon Fisher (27:44) all put on solid performances for Bryn Mawr as well.
Johns Hopkins claimed the overall team championship at the race, with Blue Jays taking the top seven individual spots. Ellie Clawson won the individual title, finishing in a time of 21:27.
Bryn Mawr will welcome their alumnae back to campus next weekend for their annual alumnae race, and then the Owls will be back in action on Saturday, November 10th at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championship, hosted this year by DeSales.
