Keep Heading Back to the National Championship Race

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Junior Claudia Keep will be making the trek to the 2013 NCAA Cross Country National Championships in Hanover, Ind., on Saturday, Nov. 23. Keep finished 8th at the NCAA Mid East Regionals to qualify for the national race hosted by Hanover College. As a team, the Owls took home 19th place out of 52 teams that competed Saturday.

Keep's time of 21:41 also earned her a spot on the All-Mid East Team and was 6th fast Centennial Conference time at the meet. Keep, who named to the 1st Team All-CC Team two weeks ago dropped two minutes from her 6K time that she posted at the Conference Championships on Nov. 2. Keep will race at the National Meet for the second time in her career.

Sophomore Hannah Hastings was Bryn Mawr's second finisher as she completed the race in 23:03 to finish 62nd overall. Junior Kim Wiley was the 101th place finisher with a time of 23:38 followed by sophomore Alexandra Beda in 163rd overall and a time of 24:53.

Sophomore Rebecca Craig finished 209th overall with a time of 25:34 followed by senior Victoria Travis in 233rd place (26:16) to round out Bryn Mawr's top five runners.

Kelsey Patrick of Lebanon Valley was the individual winner while Johns Hopkins took home the team title. Dickinson finished second followed by Marywood, Haverford and Elizabeth to round out the top-five teams.

As a conference, the Centennial was well represented as 8 of the conference's 10 teams placed in the top-20.
