TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Senior Kristina Kronauer became just the second Bryn Mawr runner to compete at the NCAA DIII National Championship Saturday afternoon as she took to the 6K course in Terre Haute, Ind., hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Kronauer claimed 145th place overall with a time of 23:03.00.
Through the first timing loop, Kronauer was shown in 40th place with a time of 10:45. As the race starting coming to an end, the field not only caught-up to Kronauer, but starting to pass her. As she started to fall back, she caught a boost of speed and closed out the race hard in her final collegiate cross country race.
Edging Lily Corsara from NYU but one second, Kronauer posted a 6:11 mile.
The individual winner was sophomore Christy Cazzola from Wisconsin-Oshkosh who posted a blazing 20:53.30. The highest Centennial Conference finisher was Johns Hopkins' Hannah Oneda who took home 10th place with a time of 21:26.30.
The Johns Hopkins Blue Jays, the 2012 Centennial Conference Champions, won the team championships with 158 points while Wartburg finished second with 221.
The NCAA DIII National Championships is the final event for the sport until the 2013 season.
