ALLENTOWN, Pa. – With a majority of the varsity runners participating in the annual mid-week Main Line Invitational Thursday afternoon, it was time for the rest of the team to shine as the Owls finished 4th at the annual Mule/Falcon Invitational.
Leading the Owls by running a 22:08.2 on the 5K course was freshman Hannah Hastings (pictured); it was also a college personal best time for Hastings at this distance. Crossing the finish line behind Hastings was junior Sarah Macholdt, also running a college PR with a 22:42.4.
Freshman Julia Henrikson was the surprise of the race. Henrickson dropped more than two minutes off her previous 5K time by running a 23.42.1. Joining Henrickson in the 5K PR department was sophomore Irena Goldstein (24:49.0) and freshman Yamina Mohattane (26:47.2), Yue Yang (26:47.2) and Hannah Wang (26:47.2).
In addition to Hastings and Macholdt's college PR's, freshman Marissa Mirecki (26:40.4), Margaret Patchin (26:47.2), and Maura Fitzpatrick (26:47.2) all put forth new college-best times.
On a week that saw senior co-captain Kristina Kronauer running an excellent race Thursday, the Owls earned 10 personal best times while eight other posted either college personal best or course best times.
