LEXINGTON, Ky. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association has announced the programs that have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 season, and Bryn Mawr has once again been named as an honoree, this time for the fifth straight year.
The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale. This year, a record 1126 total teams earned the award, breaking the previous high of 977 award-winners last year.
Bryn Mawr was one of 175 NCAA Division III women's teams to be bestowed with this honor. The Owls have earned this recognition for a fifth consecutive season and for the tenth year since 2005-06.
