GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Bryn Mawr College cross country team finished 9th of 14 teams at the Osprey Open, hosted by Stockton University on Saturday September 23rd. The Owls were paced in the 6K event by freshman Emily George.
George led the Owls' overall in her debut race, finishing 40th in the field of 152 runners, with a time of 26:43.69. Freshman Nevada Powers finished right on her heels with a time of 28:40.38. Thanks to great competition Powers was able to drop seven minutes off her time from last week, resulting in another personal record for the Owls.
Sophomore Shannon Fisher was the next to cross for BMC, posting a time of 29:48.75 for 89th overall. Grace Cain trailed right behind crossing 90th with a time of 29:49.75. Performances by Fisher and Cain rounded out the top 5 finishes for Bryn Mawr.
Ramapo College earned the overall victory placing first, followed by the meet host Stockton University, Jefferson University, The College of New Jersey, and St. Mary's College of Maryland.
Bryn Mawr will return to action next Saturday at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational at 11:15 AM.
