Edwards, Cross Country Team Earn USTFCCCA Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their academic honors for the past fall's cross country season on Thursday, with Bryn Mawr earning both individual and team honors from the association.

Bryn Mawr junior Kate Edwards, a Russian and Classical Languages dual-major, finished 57th at the NCAA Mid-East Regional Championship to qualify for the All-Academic mention from the USTFCCCA. In order to be named USTFCCCA All-Academic, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and finish in the top 25 percent at their respective regional championship.

A total of 25 women from the Centennial Conference were bestowed with All-Academic individual honors. In total, 374 women from across NCAA Division III earned mention from the USTFCCCA.

On the team side, Bryn Mawr was also named as an All-Academic Team by the USTFCCCA. The Owls put up a combined 3.50 GPA as a team. In order to be considered for this distinction, a team must have competed and scored at an NCAA Regional, and also must have a minimum team GPA of 3.10.

A total of seven Centennial Conference programs were named as All-Academic teams, with a total of 216 women's teams from across NCAA Division III earning recognition.
