LANCASTER, Pa. - The Centennial Conference announced their 2018-19 All-Centennial Conference selections Tuesday afternoon, and Bryn Mawr raked in quite the collection of honors as part of that process. Three different Owls earned their way onto four spots on the All-Centennial Conference team thanks to some incredible effort and results at the 2019 Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field championship.
Jennica Terry headlined the group after her individual championship in the 60 meter hurdles at the conference championship meet. The defending champion was not ready to give up her title in that event this year, as she blazed through the field and won the event by .08 of a second. Her 9.23-second time was a season-best, and it is also the sixth-fastest 60 meter hurdle time in the region. With the victory, Terry earns First Team All-CC honors in the event. She was also named Honorable Mention All-CC for her third-place finish in the 60 meter dash. Though she was unable to repeat as champion in that event, Terry still found the podium and another All-Conference honor with a strong performance.
Julie Gonzales and Rachel Eaglin both set program records for the Owls at this year's conference championship, and with those performances they too earned their way onto the All-Centennial Conference list. Gonzales shattered her own school record in the pole vault at the championship meet. Already holding the program best at 3.04 meters, the Texas native went out and rocketed past that mark, ultimately topping 3.22 meters at the meet. With that performance, she earned third place in the event and another Honorable Mention All-CC honor for the Owls. Eaglin was competing in her first conference championship meet, but showed no signs of first-year jitters. All she did was smash the program record in the pentathlon, performing excellently in all five events to rack up 2370 points, 345 more than the previous program best. That was also good enough for a third-place finish in the event and Honorable Mention All-CC honors as well.
Gonzales also received more well-deserved recognition from the conference, as she was named to the league's Sportsmanship Team in the release.
