NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Bryn Mawr swim team closed out the 2019 Seven Sisters Championship earlier Sunday afternoon, with the Owls posting plenty of great results throughout the day. Maya Schneider led the way for Bryn Mawr with a sixth-place finish in the 1650 freestyle, earning the Owls 13 points towards the team standings on the day.
In the 200 backstroke, Anna Danesh paced Bryn Mawr with a great swim, taking ninth place with a season-best time of 2:26.94. Three more Owls would post season-best times in the next event, the 100 freestyle. Maddie Schwimmer was the fastest Bryn Mawr swimmer in the event, and Sophia Goldstein, Maggie Hernan, and Becca Adlai-Gail each set their fastest times of the season in the event as well.
Hannah Soisson flew through the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:47.05 to earn a 12th place finish in the event for Bryn Mawr. Lucy Bruemmer also posted a very solid performance in the event, earning a season-best time of 2:47.58 to finish right behind Soisson.
Ruth Mullin earned 14th in the 200 butterfly for the Owls, as the sophomore posted a season-best time of 2:50.05 in the event.
Bryn Mawr wrapped up the event with a tremendous performance in the 400 free relay, with the Owls posting another season-best in that event thanks to strong swims from Lillian Oyen-Ustad, Goldstein, Maddie Schwimmer, and Lauren Birmingham.
Overall, the Owls took fifth place as a team in the event in the final year of the Championship. Bryn Mawr will be right back in action next weekend, as the Owls will travel over to Albright for a non-conference meet.
