BRIGHTON, Mass. - The Bryn Mawr crew team closed out their fall season earlier Sunday afternoon at the 2018 Seven Sisters Championship regatta, hosted this year by Wellesley College. The Owls put on a very strong effort at the event in both the Varsity and Novice eight races, and ultimately Bryn Mawr claimed fifth place overall on the day. The Bryn Mawr Varsity 8+ featured Madison Barchas, Sophia McConnell, Sovigne Gardner, Aine Williams-Asplund, Maura Clancy, Jacqueline Fernandez, Lina Oppenheimer and Rhian Muschett, and was coxed by junior Samantha Van Cott. In the Novice 8+ race, the Owls boat featured Sofia Bomse, Cassidy Healey, Allison Eckert, Bailey Willhite, Laura D'Elia, Yael Day, Uba Ogidi, and Amalia Cattrell, and was coxed by co-captain Anushka Robinson. Bryn Mawr took sixth place in that race, finishing in a time of 19:02.5.

Madison Barchas and Sophia McConnell were named to the All-Seven Sisters Varsity Team for their strong performances at the regatta, while Cassidy Healey was named to the All-Seven Sisters Novice team.

Overall, Wellesley claimed the program's tenth consecutive Seven Sisters title, paced by a victory in the Second Varsity 8+ event and runner-up finishes in the Varsity 8+ and Novice 8+ races.
